Candlelite Inn Restaurant

About us

Established 1957

The Candlelite Inn restaurant is a part of history in Arlington, Texas. Established in 1957 it was the first restaurant to offer pizza in Arlington. When the restaurant was in the small rock building next to the existing structure all they served was tacos, pizza, beer, and soft drinks.

In 1964 the larger building was put up and the legacy of Steaks, Tex-Mex, Italian entrees, and the coldest mugs of beer anywhere around began. The restaurant has gone through only three families in fifty years. The present owners Alan and Bonnie Petsche rebuilt the original 1964 building between 2012 and 2014. The only part of the original building that could be saved were the exterior walls. The challenge began on the reverse engineering of the new building and ran into several road blocks but the persistence to get the job done and done correctly prevailed.

2014 was a new beginning for the Candlelite Inn. The results of the effort to keep the same look has been astonishing. The booths were redone along with the dimmed lighting, the red and white checkered tablecloths, candles (now led), the juke boxes, and the same menu. There are many great improvements in the restrooms, kitchen, and entry way. There is now a bar, a banquet room, and a private dining room that can be reserved for those special occasions. A few of the old booths were saved so that some of you can revisit your etchings from that special night out back in the day.

The new banquet room has room dividers so that there can be several private get-togethers at the same time. The banquet room can seat around 50 comfortably and the private dining room is by reservation only and can hold 6 nicely.

Reservations are taken for groups of 8 (eight) or more and are highly recommended for weekends.

Hours: 11:00am to 2:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:pm Seven days a week.
